The next thing I knew I was being woke up to Andy saying "We're here"
I tried to sit up my back hurt; I had fallen asleep against the armrest. Dillon was still snuggled up against me. "Dillon babe, wake up," I shook him he moved a little when he looked up at me his eyes were a light blue and red, swollen. "We're here." I told him he sat up winched a little and looked around he let out a yawn and rubbed his eyes. Andy handed him a wet one so he could wash his face a bit to get the dried tears, drool and the sleep from his eyes.
"Thanks," Dillon said giving Andy a shy smile.
"No problem" Andy told him. He handed me one also and I also quickly washed my face off just to get the sweat off.
As we pulled up to the house I notice most of the family has already arrived the yard looked like a KOA campgrounds. There were motor homes, trailers, tents, and hammocks from the back fence to the barn.
Roy notice on the other side of the house was where the all the vehicles were parked so he pulled in to an empty area. As I open my door I could here "They're here." Some one was yelling as they went running across the yard to the house.
Once we got out of the car, I notice Grammy standing on the porch she looked all of sixty hard to believe she was going to be ninety tomorrow. "Wow is that her?" I heard Dill ask, I only nodded "You sure she going to be ninety?" Again I only nodded he let out a low whistle. "Wow! I hope you look that young when you get old" he told me. I had to laugh; I could hear Andy and Roy chuckle behind us.
"You all go help them unload that beast," Grammy yelled for the kinfolks to come and help. In no time we had the car unloaded and headed toward the house. Grammy stood on the porch with her hands on her hips like she about ready to do some scolding
She gave Roy and Andy a hug and looked around like she expected someone else to be with. They then she looked over at me. Dill was almost standing right behind me since he was a little shorter and skinner then me he could hide behind me.
"So you are the young man who stole my little ones heart huh?" She asked.
"Yes, Ma'am," Dillon answered her. He was doing his best not to stumble over his words.
"You can call me Grammy, Grams or Arletha but no Ma'am is we clear?" She said
"Yes, Ma. Grams we're clear." Dill said as he swallowed. Yeah I forgot to give him that little tidbit. "Andy, Roy you two will be in John's old room, Gary, "she stopped and looked at Dillon, "Baby blue eyes here will be in your old room." She told us "That way you all will have some privacy."
"Oh yeah, Grams this is Dillon, Dillon this is my Grammy Arletha "I introduce them.
"A little late aren't we." She asked as she gave me my hug finally.
"Yes Grams" I told her trying to be boyish.
We made our way up the stairs and into the rooms. Dill stood by the door waiting for me to find the light. Once the room was lit, Dill just looked around, it was small, not even the size of our room back home. He just shook his head.
"What did you expect?" I asked. There was a full size bed a dresser and a freestanding closet. I took our bag and things and put them on the bed and started to unpack the bag when I tossed the paddle on the bed. I heard a gasp.
"What you bring that for?" Dill asked I could tell be his voice he was totally shocked.
"In case it is needed." I told him. Grabbing it and our underwear I put it in the top drawer of the dresser. "But that is totally up to you, my love."
"And how is that up to me?" He asked
"Behave." I told him pulling him in to a hug; I pulled over to the bed and fell back with him he snuggled up to me.
"You use to live in this room?" he asked.
"Yeah from freshmen year in high school tell I moved to Walla," I told him.
"Wow must have been nice." He said getting to his feet pulling me up with him. "Enough snuggling. Show me around." He ordered. I laughed and followed him out the door.
I bore you with the details of the tour but the only thing he found interesting was the old oak tree they used as a hangman tree to lynch people. To this day, I'm still not sure how many unmarked graves were around.
I flipped my phone open when it vibrated and a text message came up `Dinner 10 min'. I flip it shut and we headed back once we got to the house.
"Dillon come with us!" One of the cousins shouted from the back yard.
"We're you all going?" Uncle Rich yelled out.
"Just out back," someone else yelled out.
Dillon looked over at me. I just jerked my head toward the door Stay off the dirt bikes." I yelled at him as the screen door banged shut.
About two hours later we all heard one of the dirt bikes .we heard feet running up the steps and across the porch the door slammed against the wall and Alan stood covered from head to toe with mud. "Cuz you got you medical kit? Cause we need it at the pits" He told us just oh so calmly.
"It still in the car" Roy said as we headed outside I grab the kit and straddle the bike Alan and I was off like a shot followed by two trucks with half the men folk in them.
Once we got to the mud pits I saw all the young cousins all standing around in a circle. Janet came up to me. "What happened?" I asked once I got there.
"Don't know; we just riding and they just flipped." She told me.
"Oh shit," I whispered. "Alright give me room; let them breath." I ordered every one step back and I finally got to the two injured parties. One was Tom, a cousin, and the other was my brat. I dropped to my knees and checked them both over quickly. Tom had couple of nasty cuts but nothing too bad.
"Here you take care of your friend." my uncle Fred told me.
"I'm sorry," Dillon whispered to me. Dillon was almost white; one of the kids had some brains at least. They had ripped Dillon pants leg open and had pressure on the cut with a some what of a clean T-shirt. At first glance I knew we should head out to the nearest emergency room.
"It's all right," I told him giving him a smile. Janet would not let Dillon look down at his leg. I was glad she was helping since all I needed was for Dillon to see it and go into shock. I could see where all the blood was coming from. His calf had a gash in it; I looked up at my uncle.
"You get him stable the best you can and I'll get the truck," He told me as he headed off. Once I got Dillon patched up the best I could, J.C and I carried Dillon in between us to where the truck was, and settled him in the back. I hit the back window to let Fred know to take off and we were off. I laid down beside Dillon; for two reasons: one to comfort him and the other was cause it is against the law to ride in the back of a moving truck on the public roads. Once we got to the hospital Fred ran in and got some help. When the medical team came out I quickly gave them the stats on Dillon. One
of nurses just looked at me. I smiled and said EMT Emerson
Four hours later we were on our way home. Once there I made sure Dillon had dinner and took his antibiotics. Then we headed for my parent's bathroom it was a better place to help Dillon wash up. Once his shower was done I made sure the staples were dried. A rap at the door told us Andy had finally located Dillon's sleep pants and brought them to us. Once he was dressed Roy and I got him out to the barn and up the stairs to our room.
"You going to spank me?" Dillon asked his words were a little slurred because of the pain meds
Once I was ready for bed I turned to him. "Endangering your life like that after I told you to stay off the bikes, you are lucky I don't take my belt to you" I told him flat out. Dillon eyes almost popped out of his head. "However, since standing is out of the questions at the moment we are going to have to wait for a few days to do anything about it," Dillon was about to say something, "In the mean time you, my dear boy, will be doing some writing about the
safety of motor cross bikes." I climbed into bed beside him. Dillon gave out a sigh and curled up next to me.
"You know I hate writing." He told me. I just nodded my head yes, as I rubbed his back. "Sing to me," he asked.
"Which one," I asked. I could feel him smile as he laid his head on my chest. "Alright" I cleared my thoughts and throat and started humming the tune to Green Sleeves. I started to sing softly.
"At last my love you've gone to sleep laying here beside my side, with your head upon my chest sleep my baby boy, sleep my baby, sleep tonight, tomorrows another day, sleep my baby, sleep all night and tomorrow we'll play again.
I did some more humming between the lyrics it usually only take a few times before I could feel Dill asleep beside me. Once Dillon was asleep I kissed the top of his head and closed my eyes. "God I loved this man beside me and thank you for bringing him to me." I whispered before I went to sleep.
It took a few days before all the family left back to were they had came from most of them were still in the Washington state area some in Oregon area the ones that lived in the California area didn't came they just sent their wishes.
Dad, Mom and Grams left to do some shopping leaving Andy, Dillon Roy and I alone. Dillon was busy writing his safety essay on motor cross Andy was baking cookies. Roy was on the phone with some one named Chris. I went over to where Dillon was writing and looked over his shoulder he looked up at me and smiled I jerked my head toward the barn. He put down his pencil and stood stretching his arms out he gave a yawn. I took his hand and we left the house. Once outside we
headed toward the barn and up to our room.
Dillon went straight to the bed and sat down I went over to the dresser and pulled out the paddle. I grabbed the desk chair and pulled it out into the middle of the room. Dillon gave me a sick look. I sat as I put the paddle on the desk. "Do, you care to explain why you were on a dirt bike after I said to stay off it?" I asked. He just shook his head no. "Alright come here," I told him as I held out my hand for him. Dillon took my hand and stood before me I made short work of his sleep pants checking out the staples to make sure they were not infected. "Does it still hurt?" I asked looking up at him he shook his head no. "Ok then over you go." I said as I help him lay across my lap. "Do you know why you're being
spanked?" I asked as I wrapped my arm around his waist to hold him down as much as possible
"Cause I got on something after you said to stay off it." He told me while he did his best to adjust himself so his feet would still be on the floor.
"Correct," I told him as brought my hand down with a slap he jumped but didn't yell out; it took several swats before he started to wiggle once his back side was a bright shade of red. I stopped. Dillon tried to get up, "Not done yet baby," I told him as I rubbed his back gently. I took a deep breath and reached for the paddle. I didn't say anything. I knew Dillon would not be able to speak at this time so I just gave him ten quick swats to the lower half of his butt concentrating on the sit spot. About half way through the paddling Dillon opened up and started to cry hard. I brought the paddling to an end quickly and pulled him up to his feet. Once he was up I stood and pushed him toward the bed. We both lay down;
Dillon lay more or less on top of me. I held him tight and kissed his wet cheek, "Shhhhh, it's alright, it over, done, behind us," I whispered to him. It took him a while to claim down his breathing became a little normal and a few hiccups and quivers would escape but he would be fine in no time. "I love you," I told him.
"I love you too," He said between hiccups, after a few minutes we heard my dad's truck pull in. Dillon jerked up and I pulled him back down to lay beside me,
"Shhhhh, go to sleep my love. Tomorrow is another day," I said as I gently scratched the area above his waistband.
Our vacation was over before you knew it we had Roy truck packed and ready to go for an early departure first thing the morning. I love my family but I was glad I moved so far away from them. My uncle Fred told me that I probably could get a better paying job in Tacoma since I was a class two EMT but I love my little onion town. I think him and told him I would think about it.
That night Dillon and I was missing around in bed when Dillon looked up at me. "Do you want to move closer to your family?" He asked.
"Are you kidding? They'd drive me nuts," I said as I bit his neck. My mouth met his and I kiss him hard our tongues danced for a while and he pulled off the kiss.
"Well if you wanted to I'd be ok with it," He told me as he wiggled under me.
I let out a sigh "Dillon do you want to talk about my family or do you want to fuck?" I asked.
"Family, what family" he told me as he wrapped his legs around my waist.

Road Trip (Part 02)
Dillon, come on; they will be here any minute," I shouted from the front room.
"I can't fine my extra battery!" Dill yelled back from the bedroom.
I headed toward the bedroom shaking my head. I stood in the door way watching him play his PSP game. "Dillon!"
He jumped a mile. "Dude, give me a heart attack, why don't ya?" Dillon said as he sat there staring at me.
"I'll give you something," I told him as I pointed to the front room. "You have exactly thirty seconds to get your butt into the front room," I told him, looking at my watch. It took only a few seconds for him to get up. He grabbed his stuff and squeezed passed me with his butt toward the door jamb. Once he was in the front room, he sat at his desk checking to make sure every thing was turned off.
I continued to gather our things together, which was not much as I didn't want to travel heavy. I did a mental inventory, one suite case, two toiletry bags in suitcase, laptop case with laptop, one backpack full of games to keep one brat occupied on a long journey, I hope. Oh yeah and Dillon's favorite pillow.
After a few minutes, I heard a voice outside. As I opened the front door, I saw Andy. He stood about five-feet, eight-
Inches and weighed about two hundred pounds. He was wearing a light green T-shirt and blue jeans. "Andy?" I was just a little surprised. The last time I saw him, he was only five-five and probably a hundred pounds and wearing a prom dress.
"Hi, how's it been?" Andy asked, giving me a hug. I returned the hug
"Great, come in," I told him stepping back about that time his partner Roy stepped up. He stood a little taller then me. He was an older man probably in his early thirties. He too was also wearing a light green t-shirt with blue jeans.
"Gary this is Roy." We shook hands." Roy this is my cousin Gary," Andy introduce us.
"Hello nice to meet you, I've heard a lot about you for the last fifty miles" Roy told me. "All nice" He gave me a smile.
"Well, Andy, Roy this is my partner Dillon," I told them Dillon stood behind me he nodded his head Roy raised an eye brow at us. Roy extended his hand I elbowed Dillon in the side, he got the hint and shook Roy's hand.
"He's all proper and formal, when it comes to greeting people." Andy whispered to me.
"I hate to be rude, but do you have any coffee." Roy asked.
"Yeah, I was going to toss it out." I told him. I headed toward the kitchen with Roy behind me. I pulled down a cup and poured it for him. "Sugar, cream?" I asked Roy, he shook his head.
"Black and strong" Roy said as he took a sip I could see a relief come over his eyes. "Sorry, I've been up since five and SOME ONE," He looked toward Andy "Forgot to set the coffee pot." He said taking another sip. I glanced at Andy he just shrugged his shoulders at me. "And gas station coffee is just plain," He twisted his mouth a little "Shitty" he told me downing the last in his cup.
"Don't get him started on Truck stop's coffee." Andy yelled from the front room
"May I?" He asked pointing to the pot.
"Be my guest," I told him.
"Andy, be a love and load their stuff up" Roy asked. Andy did as he was asked with out any questions. Dillon actually helped which surprised the hell out of me. After a few minutes the boys came back. Dillon was laughing hard he started to quiet down some but looked at me and busted up laughing again. "What is so funny?" I asked. Dillon looked at me then at Andy
"You," He told me.
"I told him about the time you sat in poison oak." Andy told me. Roy just gave me an odd grin.
I had to think back. "Yeah well enough about me just make sure you got everything and done everything." I told my brat, Dillon gave me a look "I'm not five." He shouted as he went down the hall.
"You too," Roy told Andy like Dillon he gave us a look but when Dillon came out of the bathroom Andy headed down the hall. Both Roy and I also made sure we did everything. We left I made sure the door was locked.
"Ok brats in back." Roy announced when we got to the car. Andy didn't say anything he just climbed into the back seat. Dillon gave me a worried looked but did as he was asked. Roy leaned into the open car on Andy's side, "Andy, we have a long drive ahead of us, I do not want to pull over understood." Roy waited for an answer.
"Yes," Andy looked up at him and batted his eyelashes at him as he fastened his seat belt. Roy just rolled his eyes and shut the door.
I turn to Dillon and looked at him. "What? Oh yeah, ok fine," he told me buckling up his seat belt.
After about ten miles down the road Andy started to fidget. He undid his seat belt and turn around digging in the stuff behind him finding a briefcase. He flopped back into his seat and flipped it open, after a few minutes a light started to flash on the dash. "Andy, seatbelt," Roy told him not taking his eyes of the road. "Andrew. Seatbelt. Now" Roy told him I heard a soft click and the light on the dash went off, Roy held up one finger.
The boys started to do a battle between them on the hand held games. I was glad to see Andy and Dillon actually getting along. Dillon was the shy quiet type when it came to my friends, after a few miles I heard Dillon say something about the game and bored. I heard the zipper being undone the click of games going through and a "found It." from Dillon "So what game is that?" Andy asked grabbing the game from Dillon.
"Hey!" Dillon yelled. Before I could turn around we had a struggle going on in the back seat. Andy was trying to keep the game away from Dillon and Dillon was not happy about it, Andy thought it was funny.
"Stop It!" Both Roy and I yelled at the two. I undid my seat belt and turned around grabbing a hold of Dillon I pulled him off Andy Dillon slipped from my fingers and lunged at Andy. The next thing I knew the brakes locked up and I went forward into the seat, and then I was jerked back. I flew into the dash board behind me whacking my head on the windshield, then we did a one eighty in the middle of the road I felt the car lift up on two wheels and then thud when we
came to a stop. We were facing the opposite direction in the road. Roy was thinking quickly he put the car into drive and got us pulled over to the side of the road. All of us sat gasping for air.
I almost fell out on the ground when my car door opened I looked up into a strangers face and blinked. "Are you all ok?" He asked. I glanced over at Roy who was white as a sheet.
"Yeah, I think so," I heard Roy tell him.
"That was some pretty damn good driving man, I thought you where going to flip it for a second there." The stranger helped me out of the car. I was still a little wobbly in the knees I just stood there with my ass on the fender.
"Do you need me to call anyone," The man asked I shook my head no. "You do know your bleeding?" He told me. I looked up at him and blinked putting my hand up to where he was pointing. I could feel sticky stuff in my hair. I pulled my hand away and saw blood. Now seeing other people's blood doesn't bother me but when it's my own or Dillon's I get queasy. I felt my body slide to the ground. Dillon was by my side in a second
"Oh god, Gary, I'm sorry," He told me grabbing my shoulders. "Let me see." He said I could feel his finger moving my hair around. "You got a nasty bump but it's only a little cut, not deep." He said jumping to his feet and headed back behind the car. I felt something wet on my head and looked up to see Roy standing there with a wet clothe, Dillon had my medical kit open shoving things back into it. Roy and the stranger helped me to my feet and back into the car, this time I was put in the backseat the other door opened and Dillon slid in. Roy took his hand off my head and Dillon slid closer to me so he could hold the towel in place. "I am so sorry," Dillon told me I could see a tear slip down his face. I reached up and swept it away.
"It's ok," I told him. "I'm fine"
"Thanks for your help," Roy told the stranger. I heard Roy get in but didn't start the car. After a few minutes we heard
"You want to tell me what that was all about Andrew?" Roy asked as he turned to face Andy.
"I wanted to see the game he had and he wouldn't let me." Andy told him
"So you decided to hid the game in a moving vehicle?" Roy almost yelled at him.
"I didn't expect that to happen." Andy told him.
"You my dear boy are lucky we are in bucket seats." Roy told him. "I want you to buckle up, sit straight, look forward and don't you move a muscle." Roy ordered. Andy did as he was told. Then Roy turned around and looked at us. "Gary you alright, do you need a hospital?" He asked I shook my head no.
"Did I crack your windshield?" I asked him. He gave me a smirk
"No, it's hard head proof." He told me as he turned back around. He started it up and got us headed in the right direction. I pulled Dillon to me so I could just hold him
It was a short time later "Gary," I heard Andy call me. I looked at him I could see he's been crying but I was not sure if it was because he felt bad for what happened, or because of the trouble he found himself in. "I am so sorry," He told me.
"It's alright, I'm fine." I told him I reached up and squeezed his shoulder.
I saw a café sign coming up that said rooms for rent. "Roy I think we need to stop for a while," I told him. He glanced back at me and nodded his head. I could feel Dillon shudder and I noticed Andy sat straighter if that was possible. Once we found a place to park we all climbed out. I glanced around and noticed that the place had a few cottages out back. We walked over to the café and found us a table. Once we got our orders taken Roy excused him self and headed toward the cashier. He talked to the waitress for a minute then she pulled something out from under the counter and handed it to Roy who scribbled on the pad. After a few minutes he came out and sat down by Andy. Taking Andy's hand into his, he kissed his knuckles. The waitress brought our food to us, Roy and I ate but both boys just pushed their food around. Roy tapped Andy's plate with his fork Andy looked at him and sighed, picking up his fork he began to eat. I didn't have to say anything to Dillon he got the message and started to eat his food. Neither one ate ever thing but they both eat enough
to keep us happy.
Once outside Andy and Dillon headed back toward the car. "Not so fast," Roy told him. Dillon and Andy stopped in there tracks and spun around to face us. "We have some business to take care of Andrew, I rented a room for an hour it the last one on the end, number twelve." Roy looked over at me, and I took Dillon by the hand.
"You and I will take a walk until they are finished." I told Dillon, he looked sick. "I'm sorry I can not let this slide by." I told him. I could see him swallow,
"I understand" He told me squeezing my hand. We headed out back behind the motel and looked around. It was about half an hour later I felt my phone vibrate. I didn't have to look at it to tell me it was Roy telling me to head back. Dillon didn't realize I had turned us back toward the room not until he saw it come into view. I felt him go stiff as we made our way back Roy and Andy was standing outside when we came up Andy didn't look at us.
"We'll be out here," Roy told me. I nodded my head and held the door open for Dillon.
"Do I need to ask what happened?" I asked, Dillon only shook his head. "Ok then drop your pants," I told him as I sat down on the bed. Dillon took a deep breath and undid his pants letting them fall to the floor on their own. I helped him over my lap, adjusted him so his chest was on the bed, his hip was on my lap his feet on the floor my one leg came around his to lock him in place since he didn't wear any underpants. "Why don't you fight in a moving vehicle?" I asked him once I got him settled
I felt him sigh, "It's dangerous, we could have been in an accident, the door could have come open and I could have fallen out because I wasn't wearing the seatbelt." He told me. The last part made me shutter. I've seen what happens when someone falls out of a moving vehicle, not a pretty sight.
"You're being spanked for fighting; I am not sure how the car got knocked out of gear." I told him. With that said I let my hand fall hard and fast. It was about the fifth swat when I heard the first of many yells come out of him it was about the tenth when he started to move. When I felt him go limp across my lap I started bring the spanking to an end letting my hand fall slower and more gently. The last spank was soft, I lightly patted his rear to let him know it was now over, slowly he rolled over so we were chest to chest, and his arms came around my neck his face got buried into my neck. "It's alright, its over, done with." I told him gently rocking him and lightly rubbing his back. Neither one of us said anything for a while. "Come on we need to get back on the road." I told him. He gave me a groan. But got up, "Go wash your face," I told him. We both went into the bathroom, I helped him wash his face and after looking in the mirror he helped me wash the dried blood out of my hair. Once that was done and over with I made the bed and we left, I locked the door behind us.
Roy was on the phone with some one when we came out. Andy was belly down over the hood of the car looking at some thing. When Roy notice we were there, he told whom ever he was chatting with goodbye and see you tomorrow and hung up. Andy stood up with a wince and came over to give me a hug. "Sorry cuz," He told me. "
"It's fine, over with, in the past," I told him giving him a hug. Roy gave me a half ass smile and went to turn the key in.
"Front or back?" Roy asked me when he got to the car.
"Back, I need to be with Dillon," I told him. He gave me a knowing smile. Once we got fastened up and back on the road. The car was quiet, the only thing you could hear was the rumble of the tires on the road, the passing cars and soft rock music played, and no body said anything. Andy had fixed the front seat so he could be as close to Roy as possible the console was in his way, but he managed some how. I had my arm around Dillon with his head on my shoulder.
Finally I heard him sigh
"What I want to know is how the car got knocked out of gear." Dillon asked as he looked between the seats "There is no way either Andy or I could have done it with the console between the seats."
"Gary did it," Roy told us. All three of us went "huh?" "When he turned around to grab you Dillon he had to be on his knees to reach you. When you lunged at Andy you pushed Gary, he slipped and his knee hit the gear shift knocking it up into reverse, and the rest you know."
"Oh," I said. I moved around so Dillon was between my legs but still buckled up. I made sure the doors were locked and leaned against it with Dillon's head on my chest and closed my eyes. The next thing I knew I was being woke up to Andy saying
"We're here"
"I can't fine my extra battery!" Dill yelled back from the bedroom.
I headed toward the bedroom shaking my head. I stood in the door way watching him play his PSP game. "Dillon!"

"We're here"
I Don't Wanna Go (Part 01)
When I received a phone call from my mom telling me the family was going to have a big get together to celebrate my Grams' ninetieth birthday and she expected me there for more then a day, I decided it was time for Dill to meet the family. My family was one of those close-knit families where you stay in-touch with each other no matter what. When I told them I was gay, I expected them to have a conniption fit and say I was only acting out. But, to my surprise, Mom and Dad sat there looking at me.
"As long as you're happy with life, but I really wanted a grandchild with your eyes," Mom said.
When I went to make arrangements to have the time off my captain noticed I hardly took vacation time, so he had no problem giving me the time off I needed. I thought Dill would be tickled with the ideal of going away. Wrong!!
"What do you mean we are going to Castle Rock?" Dillon almost shouted when I told him the news.
"Because my Grandmother is turning ninety and she wants to meet you." I tried to grab him to get him to settle down. Dill spun around and I ended sitting on the floor. No, he did not mean to knock me down. But he gets excited and I should have known to keep an arm's length between us until he calmed down some.
"Sorry," Dill told me as he looked down at me. "I didn't mean to." He told me as he held out his hand to help me up off the floor.
"I know you didn't but I think you need to calm down some," I told him as I pulled him to a hug. He let out a sigh. "Fifteen minutes should do the trick," I told him as I turned him around and gave him a gentle shove toward his corner. He went with his head down. I step in behind him and turn off his computer, making sure everything was saved. Then I went over and sat on the sofa so he would not be alone.
"No kicking the walls or butting your head," I told him. The last time he did that, he put a hole in the sheetrock. "Stand straight with your hands behind you," I reminded him. He did as he was told and I set the timer on my watch so I would not forget him.
Every now and then, I would glance up at him. He stood straight but I could tell he was not thinking. My watch sounded but Dill waited for me to tell him to leave. "All right, love, come here," I told him. He turned around to find me on the sofa with my legs out straight and his pillow between my legs. He gave me a shy smile, bounced over to me, gave me a kiss and then flopped down on his back, pushing the pillow and his head into my groin. His blue eyes looked up at me.
My hand went under his t-shirt so I could scratch his chest. "Are you calm enough to chat?" I asked him and he nodded. "OK then, this is not a request. You and I are going to go to Castle Rock to a family get together for a week or so. My family wants to meet you. Grams is not in good enough health to travel far. We are leaving this Saturday morning early." I keep talking so he would not be able to interrupt me.
"Are you finished?" he asked. I tapped his mouth to let him know I didn't appreciate the cheekiness and nodded. "How come you didn't ask me if I wanted to go?" he asked and I thought it was a fair enough question.
"If I had asked you, what would you have said?" I asked him.
"I don't wanta go," he told me, looking up into my eyes.
"That is why I am telling you instead of asking," I told him. His mouth open but I put my hand over it. "Yes the rules still apply no matter where we are," I told him. He raspberried my hand, then licked it. "Come on, we need to get things packed."
He got up and then helped me up. I headed for the door. Dill let out a sigh but followed me out to the storage unit, which was a mess. We were not out long when I found what I was looking for, but I had to move some stuff out of the way to get to it.
"What about work?" Dillon asked as I found the suitcase in the storage shed.
"I already told my captain I was taking time off when mom told me about the party," I said, handing him the ice chest.
"When did you find out?" he asked.
"Last month." It was out of my mouth before I could close it. Dillon hated when I didn't keep him informed of things. The next thing I knew, the room went black as the door shut behind me. "Dillon," I yelled out. I tried the knob and although it would turn, the door was stuck. I knew he was holding it closed. I hated being locked in a dark room because I always get panicky. "Dill, if you are leaning on the door…." I tried to open the door again and it opened. Dill was standing against the wall. I just pointed to the apartment.
"What? It slipped," he said.
I knew better. It had a thing on it that when you pushed against it, it would lock automatically into place. I reached into the unit and pulled out an old bamboo fishing rod and shook it at him. His eye got huge but he headed for the apartment. I tossed the rod back into the unit and closed and lock the door.
When I walked into the apartment, Dill was by our chair. I closed the door and locked it before going over to the entertainment center. Dill followed my every moved and when I took down the paddle, he started to shift. I just pointed toward the bedroom with the paddle.
"Oh come on, it was an accident," Dill said as he skirted passed me with his backside to the wall.
"Bull! It was a temper fit," I told him as I followed him into the room. "And temper fits get you what?" I asked as I closed the bedroom door.
"A paddling." He looked so ashamed of himself.
I grabbed the pillows and placed them at the foot of the bed as he let out a sigh. "Pants down," I told him as I step in behind him.
"I didn't go far," he told me as he dropped his shorts. He answered my next question. "Did he or did he not close the door?" Dill placed himself over the pillows. Usually it would be over my lap but I wanted this to make a point. I only gave him five swats; one on each cheek, each thigh and one right in the middle on his sit spot. His backside was a nice pink but that was about it. I tossed the paddle on the chair and help him stand up. Actually, it wasn't even enough to get him to cry but he was.
"I'm sorry," he whispered to me and I held him tight.
"Its over, and you don't lock someone in a room because you are upset," I told him. I helped him find his shorts, got him dressed again, and held him until he calmed down. On our way back out, I put the paddle back where it belong and then we headed back out to the storage unit. After we found the suit case and put everything back, we headed to the apartment.
I was busy trying to get dinner on when the phone rang. "Dillon, get that!" I yelled out.
"Why? It's probably for you anyway," he answered back.
I drop the meat into the pan and washed my hands just as I step into the front room. "Hello. Yes he's here. Hold on a minute." Dillon handed me the phone. I gave him a `who is it' look but he just shrugged his shoulder and handed me the phone and went back to his computer.
"Hello, "I said and I smile big when I heard the voice come over.
"Hey, Cuz," the voice said in a stereo-type gay voice. "You know who this is, Sugar?"
"Hello, Anne," I said and I could hear him laugh. I haven't talked to him in a while, not since he moved to Idaho.
"No, Cuz, I go by Andy now," he told me.
"Oh really, and when did this happen?" I asked. When he was little and a teen, he wanted to be called Annabelle because he didn't want to be a boy. He liked to think he was a girl and he even dressed like a girl. Yeah, but our family just accepted it as long as he was happy with what he as doing. I personally wanted to knock the sense back into him.
"When I met Roy," he told me.
"Oh really?" I asked.
"Look, Cuz, we're heading over to Grams' place this weekend for the get together and were wondering if you were heading that way yourself?" he asked.
"Yes, Dillon and I are heading out Saturday," I told him.
"Well, I was wondering if you all wanted to ride up with us so, you know, we can get to know each other's partner and save gas and all?" he asked. "Roy said it was up to you as he has no problem coming over to get ya since you only live on the way," he told me.
"Hold on," I told him. "Dill, you want to ride up with my cousin and Roy or do you want us to drive up?" I asked him.
"Like my opinion counts," he snapped back at me. I just glared at him and rubbed my hand on my pants.
"What time are you going to be here?" I asked. Andy said something to Roy, or so I presumed.
"About sevenish," Andy told me.
"That's fine, we'll be ready I hope," I told him. I gave him my address and how to get to the complex and how to find us.
When I hung up the phone, I went over to the entertainment center and turn on the stereo just loud enough to drown out something but not loud enough to make the neighbors complain. Dillon looked up at me as I made my way over to him and his computer where I reached over and hit the save button. He just sat back with his arms crossed. When it said it was saved, I turn off the computer. Pulling him up by the arm and making sure it landed on the sit spot; I gave him a swat that even stung my hand. Then I walked him over to the chair and sat down, pulling him over my lap as I sat. He didn't have time to think. I had his shorts down around his ankles before he could make a grab for them. My right arm went around his waist to hold him tight against me, while the other one rested on his backside.
"Why are you getting this?" I asked him.
"Cause my smart mouth," he told me. With that said, I brought my hand down hard. Not extremely hard, but enough to turn his tan-colored butt red and I put enough force into it to make it sting for a while. He took it for the first five minutes, then after that he was wiggling like a worm on a hook and begging me to stop. I did after a few minutes and just sat there rubbing his back for a minute or two. Then I help him up and making sure he sat on his hip and not his butt, I pulled him close to me.
"What is wrong with you today?" I asked him but he just shrugged his shoulders at me and buried his face into my chest. I just held on to him.
"If they don't like me, will they make you send me away?" Dillon asked after about five minutes. `Oh hell,' I thought. Placing my one arm under his knees, I stood up and carried him to the bedroom. Once we were laid out on the bed, I curled up next to him, pulling him close to me.
"What if they don't like me?" Dillon asked into my neck.
"Doesn't matter, cause I adore you," I told him. "From the top of your head (kiss), to your toenails (kiss), and every where else in between (kiss), you guess where. Usually sex and punishments don't go hand in hand but I made an expectation this time. He needed to know I still love him no matter what.
I glance at the clock. It was now nine. `Well hell,' I thought. I never like Dillon to go to bed on an empty stomach. I got up, making sure he was covered and headed out to the kitchen where I turn off the stereo and clean up the kitchen. I found my crock pot and tossed the meat into it along with some carrots and potatoes, stuff like you make stew with, and turned it down to low. It would be lunch for tomorrow. I locked up the apartment and headed to bed myself. Once I was settled, Dillon rolled over next to me and dropped his arm across my chest and his head on my shoulder, shifting until he was almost on top of me.
"I don't wanna go," he mumbled in his sleep.
Wrong!!

How Gary Met Dillon
We were sitting on the sofa. Well, I was sitting while Dillon was lying with his head on my lap and his long legs propped up on the arm of the sofa. Under normal circumstances, this would not be allowed. However, my baby didn't feel good and he was hot to the touch. I'd taken his temp and it was high but not high enough to become concern. He was breathing somewhat ragged through his mouth since his nose was plugged up. He whimpered when I took the now warm washcloths off his forehead and neck. I dropped them into an old ice-cream bucket I had setting next to me on the end table. I rung them out and reapplied them. He gave a soft whisper of thanks before he closed his eyes again.
We sat there for a while. That is, I sat and he laid. When I felt him shivered, I pulled the sheet over him that I had flipped over the back of the sofa. Once again he whispered his thanks. I put the book down I was reading and started to lightly scratch his chest. He has a tattoo of a panther on his chest and it looked like it was climbing out oh him. I laid my head back, closed my eyes and dozed off. It has been a long night.
************ ***
It was just a little over a year ago, that David and I were sitting at a local Taco Bell, getting lunch when the call came in. I gave the siren a flip, waited and then hit it again to give the signal we had a call. David came running with two bags in one hand and a cup holder in the other. David stated to toss the stuff in the trash.
"No, you eat and I'll drive. Allen would kill me if I let you go hungry," I told him as I slid into the driver seat. "Bad enough I let you have junk food."
When we got to the accident there was a 24-foot Budget truck lying on it side. To my surprise there were no other cars around. Only one truck on the opposite of the road, and once we got there the driver waved to us and left. I walked around to the front of the truck to see if the driver was alright. The first thing I saw was a pair of gold cat eyes looking at me over a waistband of a pair of tight fitting Lee jeans that hung low off the man's hips. I assess the driver who seemed rather scrawny. I could almost count his ribs as he was shirtless even for it being still cold out. His hair was faded lavender and hung to the middle of his back. He had it tied back into a ponytail.
The boy was doing his best to stand but I could tell he was hurt because his left leg barely touch the ground and when it did, he lifted it up fast. He was trying to figure out how to get out of the truck.
He jumped when I rapped on the window. As he spun around to face me I saw a pair of eyes that showed he was scared out of his mind; they were huge. On his chest was a tattoo of a panther trying to climb his way out of the man's chest. I had never seen anyone with gold eyes before. When I heard David up on the side of the cab, I got my mind back on my job and off the boy in front of me. I glance up to see David open the driver door. The boy's head jerked upright.
"We're here to help you," I told him. He just looked back at me. I could see a small cut about his right eye brow. His bangs hung over his left eye and he was holding his right arm to his chest.
"Hey kid, try to climb up!" I heard David yell at him. The boy did his best to reach up but couldn't because of his right side hurting him and his left leg.
"I can't!" he yelled back. "It hurt," he whimpered.
"Okay, turn around and face the back of the cab. Gary will kick the window out." David told him.
"No, it cost too much to fix and I already fucked it up enough," the boy said as he once again tried to get out by himself.
I rapped on the window and he looked at me. "Turn around and face the back. Now!" I ordered. He did as he was told. It took about five good kickes before the window gave-way in a crumble. He jumped and I took his hand, helping him out of the cab while doing my best to keep him turned so he would not see the truck. At first glance it seems to be totaled. As I helped him to the side of the road, he turned and saw what had happen.
"Oh fuck, he's going to kill me!"
I felt him go weak in the legs and I quickly laid him down on the ground.
David came up to me, bringing over the stuff we needed to assess the situation.
"My name is Gary and this is my Partner David," I told him as I started to check him out. "What's your name?" I asked, making him look at me. When I touched his arm, I got light-headed for a minute. I gasp and David looked at me, shaking his head as he gave me a knowing smile.
"Dill, Dillon Anderson," he said as he rolled his head from side to side.
"Hey, don't do that," David said as he placed the collar on him.
"Sick," Dillon managed to get out and we quickly rolled him to his side while he just dry-heaved.
"Dillon, I am going to cut your pants up the legs so we can see if there's any damage is done" I told him. As I took the hem of his pants and let my scissors slid up the front of them, his hand came to stop me about his pocket. I looked up at him and he gave me a sly grin. I removed the scissors and went to the other leg.
The whole time we assessed, David was talking to the hospital in the area. I heard sirens and people came running up beside us. I stayed with him as long as I could but once he was laid on the stretcher, it was my cue to go.
"Is there anyone you want us to call for you? Mom, Dad, brother, sister?" One of the guys asked as they loaded him into the back of the ambulance. I saw him shake his head no.
We headed back to the bay but my mind was on the boy. "Hey" I felt a punch on my arm. David was giving me a sly look.
"Man, you got it so bad," David told me.
"What do I have badly?" I asked him.
"You care for that boy," David told me.
"Hogwash," I told him as I grabbed up my lunch and shoved a taco into my mouth. I bite into it. Yes, I was thinking of that boy and how much I hated cold tacos. I ate the one and then shoved the bag between the seats.
Four hours later, we were once again heading back to the bay. Once there I change clothes and headed to my car. David came running up to me and handed me my lunch from the truck.
I headed home only to find out I was about out of gas, so I headed to the mini-mart close to home. I went in, paid for the gas and headed out. When I got outside I heard, "Where's the fucking truck and my stuff," some guy was yelling. Then a small voice saying, "I don't know." It was Dillon.
I walked around the corner just in time to see someone slap Dillon so hard his head hit the wall of the mini-mart.
"Dillon, get in my car!" I ordered as I pointed to the car at the gas pumps. He looked up at me and blinked, got up and slipped between me and the other man. I turned and followed him toward the car. When we got there, I hit the button on my key chain to unlock the door and Dillon got in. I pumped the gas the whole time the man just stood and watched us.
I opened my door and got in. "Buckle up," I told him as I shut the door. I saw him eye the bag as I quickly glanced to see if I could see any blood on his head.
"They're cold but if you want `um, you can eat `um," I told him. He dug into them like there was no tomorrow. I pointed to the water and he took it and drank it fast.
"When was the last time you ate?" I asked him. I also notice once we got into a confined area that the boy stunk badly.
"Damn, that was good," he said as he finished the last of the water. "And just now," he told me. "Where are you taking me anyway?" he asked finally as he watch the scenery go by.
"Home for now: you still hungry?" I asked. He didn't say anything but the look on his face told me yes. I figured if he could swallow a couple of soggy cold tacos in a few bites, he had to be starving.
I turn into my apartment complex and finding my space empty, I pulled in and turn off the car and got out. Dillon still sat in the car, so I went over and opened his door.
"Come on," I told him. He got out and followed me. I stopped at the mail box, got my mail and went to my apartment once. Dillon wiped his feet and stepped in. I dropped the mail on the counter and went into the kitchen. I pulled two bottle of water out of the fridge and turned around to find him standing by the open door.
"Shut the door and come in," I told him. Dillon stepped in and looked around. "It has one bedroom, bathroom and as you can see, a front room, and a dinning/kitchen combo," I told him. He just gave me a smile. I pointed to the sofa and he sat while I quickly checked out his head to make sure he was actually alright. I know I should have done that right after the incident, but I wanted to get out of the area before the guy realized what had happened.
"Would you like to take a shower?" I asked.
"I don't have any clothes with me," he said.
"I think my sweats might fit. They'll be big, but clean," I told him. "Come on." I went down the small hall and he followed. Once in the bathroom, I showed him where the towels were and gave him a toothbrush, comb and soap. I left as I heard the water come on and went to order food. Once that was ordered, I went to the bedroom and found what was needed and laid it out on the bed.
About twenty minutes later, I heard the shower turn off and the door open. "Hey dude," I heard him call out to me. I came out of the kitchen area and the sight took my breath away. Dillon stood with the towel wrapped around his waist. His hair was long and a dinghy brown color, his eyes were just as blue as the sky. I just started at him.
"We're the clothes?" he asked.
"They're in the room," I told him and pointed to the door across the hall. He gave me a smile and shut the door.
It only took him a few minutes to get dress and I was right, my clothes were baggy on him.
"I hope you like sea food, because I am hungry for crab," I told him.
"Yeah, I'm not picky. Right now, I would probably eat liver," he told me, but his face told me he probably didn't like liver.
When the food arrived, I laid out the paper plates and we started to eat. Boy, I am glad I ordered more than I normally do. I had never seen anyone eat like that.
"So tell me, Dill, where are you from?" I asked him. He stopped with the food mid-way to his mouth, then cocked an eyebrow up and shoved crab cake into his mouth. Chewed slowly he swallowed, licked his lips and sat back.
"Small town California," he told me.
"What do you do?" I asked
"This and that; things with computers"
"So what happen to the gold eyes" I asked him.
"Oh contacts, I like looking different, makes people wonder what you are up to." He told me as he pushed some food around his plate.
We sat and talked about this and that until it was bedtime. I helped him make a bed on the sofa and then I went to bed myself. I was not sure what time it was when I felt something touch my bed and I looked over to see Dillon wrapped in the sheet, standing by the bed.
"Cold," he told me and I lifted the covers. He drops the sheet and slipped in and snuggled beside me. Something deep inside told me this was where he belonged.
**********
I was brought back to the present when he coughed. I reached over and pushed his bangs out of his eyes. `Yeap, time for a doctor's visit,' I thought when I felt his forehead.
We sat there for a while. That is, I sat and he laid. When I felt him shivered, I pulled the sheet over him that I had flipped over the back of the sofa. Once again he whispered his thanks. I'm Sorry
I heard the door shut, the sound of an envelope being opened and then, "Dillon Leroy Anderson, Come here now!" I quickly turned off the faucet and headed into the living room.
"What I do?" I asked as he was reading the letter he held in his hand.
"How could you?" he asked.
Could what? I was still confused on what was going on.
"You gave me your word, you would not do that kind of crap anymore," Gary told me as he dropped the rest of the mail on the coffee table. "I suggest you go stand in the corner and think about what you have done," he ordered.
`Okay, we're not in Kansas anymore, Toto,' I thought as I headed for my own little corner of the house right by my computer. As I went to stand in the corner, Gary came in behind me, turned the computer off and unplugged it. I let out a sigh as he went and picked up the rest of the mail. The reason Gary unplugs the computer is because once when I was doing corner time he caught me chatting in a yahoo group. Man, was he pissed.
"I'll be in the room. When you want to explain to me why you did it, we'll talk," he told me and with that I heard the door open and the bed being sat on. We really need to get a new bed as that one makes too much noise, especially at night.
I stood facing the wall and thinking, `What the hell did I do now to get put in the corner and probably get my butt toasted?' I had to really think hard on what he had said.
************ ********
I guess I better explain myself a little better. Before I meet Gary, I lived in California and went to school to become a computer programmer. Well, the guy I teamed up with was just as good on a computer as I was and before we knew it, we were able to hack into any system and wipe out anything we wanted or get anything we wanted without leaving any clue of what had happen. Well this guy, Uncle, got the big idea on how to make fast and easy money. It only took a few months to get started. Once we were in business, he would get the cliental. Before long I was making about five hundred dollars a week. All I had to do was wipe out credit reports. We would go anywhere as long as the cliental would pay for us to travel. Big-wigs would have us do this. All Uncle did was make the arrangements. Since I didn't drive at the time, he would get us a motel room and then call all the people to tell them we were in town. A few days later, he would collect a Fed-X envelope at the front desk and we would leave. Once we got home, he would give me my share of it and drop me off at home. Not bad for a kid out of high school, making five hundred dollars a week for playing with a computer. It was not until he hooked up with some other guy that the trouble started. By then, I was living at his house along with his nephew, Phil, who I was dating at the time, so it was easier for me to live with him then at home.
One night Uncle came home, beat up pretty badly. Phil and I had no idea as to why he had been beat up and he didn't tell us anything. All we knew was that he had been going to meet this guy about getting paid, and instead he had gotten the shit beat out of him. A week later, a U-haul truck pulled up and we packed it up with the computer and our clothes and that was it. He said get in, and we did.
I didn't get to say goodbye to my parents or family. We lived out of the boxes we had our clothes in and slept in a motel room. A month later, he pulled up in a beat-up old Budget truck and we again packed up everything we had with us. From then on, we even slept in the truck. Uncle knew Phil and I were gay and that we had sex, so he made one part of the truck into a small room so we could be alone when we wanted to be.
It was about two years later when we stop at a truck stop to get fuel and Phil meet some trucker. It was the last I saw of him as he climbed in the guy's truck, leaving me and Uncle to ourselves.
We were setting in a hotel room in Pendleton, Oregon; a one horse town that rolled up the streets at five p.m. and Uncle was out most the time doing something. One day Uncle told me he was getting a rental car and heading over to Walla-Walla, Washington, to scope out work. I was to stay where I was until he called. We kept in contact by phone and he would send me information on the clients he met along the way. I would then go to their town and take care of business. I never saw any money unless Uncle handed it to me or I went to the Western-Union to get a money gram so I would have cash to fuel the truck. He would only send me about fifty dollars for food at a time, as he kept saying he would give me what was due to me when I got to him. I never question what was going on. However, what he did not know was I had my own little business going. I was making fake ID's for underage teens. At fifty dollars an ID, you can make real good money in one night.
Then one day I got a call telling me to meet him at some truck stop in Moscow, Idaho. He had already wired me the money to get there. I picked up the money and headed out. When I got to Walla-Walla, Washington; I meet Gary as a result of an accident. After my accident, Uncle met up with me. I don't know how he got from Idaho to Washington as fast as he did, but when the hospital called him and told him I was in an accident, he was there about two hours after my release from the hospital. When he found out I had no clue where the truck was, he slapped me upside my head, making me hit a wall at the mini-mart. Gary came to my rescue once again. He stopped Uncle from beating me up because I had no idea where our stuff was and Gary took me home to stay with him. Gary made some phone calls to find out where the truck was. He got me a truck and a storage unit to store my stuff in, no question asked, he just did it. It took Uncle two weeks to find out where I was staying and somehow he got the number.
After I talked with him a few times, he decided to make a home base there in Washington and we were in business again. But this time I called the shots. He would get the cliental and I would do the work after the first payment was sent. When the job was done, we would get the rest. I made sure that the payment was in cash of course and we had the people buffaloed. We told them if we didn't get the rest of the money within 24 hours, we could put the stuff back on their credit report and then some. Fed-X was dropping envelopes like crazy.
It was not until one of Gary's fellow co-workers got a hold of Uncle to get his stuff straightened out that Gary found out how I made my money and he not happy at all. Uncle and I were out putting up flyers around the town when someone took one of the flyers and read it. Liking what he read, he asked how we did it. Uncle being the talker, started to explain in detail. I realized it was David but before I could tell Uncle to shut up, Uncle told him how it worked. David took the flyer and shook his head at me and turn to leave, telling Uncle he would call him later. When we got back to the hotel Uncle was staying at, I told him who that was and that we were both in deep shit. Uncle only laugh at me and told me not to worry, he would take care of it. It was two months later when I got a call from Uncle and we went to work. After the job was done, the man left and the next thing I knew, cops came busting in and arrested us both. I almost pissed my pants as I was hauled off in handcuffs to the police station, booked, stripped and but in a nasty-looking green jumpsuit that said prisoner on the back. I was put in a cell and told I would get my phone call in the morning. All I wanted was to go home and be held by Gary. It was not until the next morning when I was taken out of the cell and into a room where my clothes were, that I was told to get dress in a hurry. When I was dressed, the door open and Gary stood there with open arms. I flew to them and he held me tight.
The next day, I went to court. I stood when the judge called my name and Gary stood up with me. My lawyer, who was one of Gary's friends, was there to defend me. The Judge, a woman, asked me how I pleaded on the charges I was being charged with. I told her guilty just like my lawyer told me to. She read my file again and then looked up at me; her eyes were as cold as ice.
"Young man, what you did was against the law. I should put you in prison with the one you called Uncle." I dropped my head and looked at the floor. Gary shoved me and told me to look at her and I did. "But for some reason, I think you were the pawn in a game. I am putting you on probation and house arrest. You will be fitted with an ankle monitor and without your probation officer's permission; you will not be allowed to go anywhere at all. You have to check in once a week to him. If you miss a week, you will go to jail. Do I make myself clear?"
"Yes ma'am," I told her.
"And to make sure you check in with you probation officer, the gentleman on your left has told me he will take full responsibility for your sentence." I turned to my left where Gary stood. I smiled at him and he gave me a stern look. My smile left and I turned back to the Judge. "Mr. Anderson, please do not make me regret my decision. I would really hate to have to put you away for a long time." With that, she banged her gavel on the peg and ended the court case.
I hugged Gary tightly and Gary just patted my back. "Wait until you meet you probation officer," Gary told me. I got a strange feeling I already new him.
"Allen right" I asked and I felt him nodded his head. "Oh man, I am so dead." Allen has been a cop since shortly after he graduated high school. One day he decided to see if he could get juvenile delinquents to turn their way of life around and that is how he met David. Allen is a kind man until you are doing business with him, then he is a no-nonsense kind of guy. He is a big man and when he is crossed, he is just plain scary.

I heard the toilet flush and then Gary sitting in the recliner.
"Dillon, come here, love," he said. I turned from my corner and went over to him. I stood at his side. I had no idea what he was going to do so I just stood with hands behind my back, waiting. He reached up and pulled me down onto his lap. Once we got snuggled into each other, he handed me the letter he had received in the mail. It stated his student loan was paid in full. "I am so sorry I jump to the wrong conclusion and thought you had gone back to your old tricks. How come you didn't tell me, love"
"How did you find out?" I asked him.
"I called the bank that was holding the loan and they told me about the extra payments you had been making." Gary's arms came around me tighter. "You know you didn't have to do that," he told me then his lips touch the top of my head.
I shrugged my shoulder at him. "I just figured since you helped me out I would help you out. I didn't think it would matter how it got paid as it got paid, honestly I didn't." I told him.
"I love you, little one," Gary said, pulling me into a tight hug.
"I love you too, but right now I can't breath," I told him. He gave me kiss on the forehead and pulled the leaver up so our feet would go up and then he turned in such a way so I would be beside him but still on his lap. I snuggled down into the safety of his arms.
You see, Gary helped me get the grants I need to go to college to get my Medical Transcribing certificate and after I got the certificate, he help me get cliental. So I thought since he helped me, I would help him. I've been sending in money orders to help pay his student loan off so he could go back to school and get his EMT-3 Degree. I guess he was right. I should have told him but that would have spoiled the surprise. The only thing I can say now is, thank God he likes to cool down and check things out before he lets his hand fly.
What Where You Thinking
I sat there laughing to myself after watching a silly Christmas show you all know the one it was about a boy who wanted a BB gun for Christmas. I laugh out loud when he got his tongue stuck to the pole. "Only you would think that was funny." I heard a voice behind me looking back I saw Gary standing in the door way with a cup of coffee in his hand.
"We need to go shopping. Gary told me as he sat his cup down.
"Ok let this finish first ok" I asked looking back to the TV.
"No, finish when we get back." he said as he paused the DVD. "Get your coat.” I gave a low growl as I got up Gary gave me a smile. He always makes me get ready to go first cause he says I am like a small child when it comes to getting ready to go I take forever. It was not awful cold outside but the air still froze your breath when it came out. We made one small stop before we headed out, we stopped at the storage unit to get our shopping cart. Just outside the carport was a pole, I could see the frost on it that got my mind to think.
"Dillon, NO!" I heard as I licked my lips and stuck out my tongue. Just before I was able to actually place my tongue to the pole, I felt a hand hit, grab a fist-full of jacket and pull me back all in one swift movement. Then a face appeared before mine.
"What were you thinking?"
Before I could answer, I was spun around and pushed away from the pole and toward the street.
"We'll discuss this after we return home," Gary told me. "Cart!" Gary snapped.
I grabbed the cart as I walked by it. Man, how I hate this thing, but I guess it better then carrying fifty plastic bags of groceries.
Gary always walked a little faster than me, so as he passed me I just keep my eyes on his tight-fitting jeans and smiled to myself as we walked to the bus stop.
This was my first year being in a city that has snow during the winter. I lived in a small town in California that only received snow about once every ten years. I was use to the cold but nothing like this. I mean, where I lived it usually warmed up during the day. Here I have to sleep in socks just to stay warm.
Gary and I meet after I got involved in accident. I rolled a 24-foot Budget truck over onto its side in the snow. I was not going that fast but some how I lost traction and rolled. Gary was the E.M.T. that kicked out the windshield to help me out since my leg was hurt and I was unable to climb out the driver's side door. Thank God for seat belts.
"Are you coming?" Gary asked, bringing me out of my thoughts.
I looked up to see the bus waiting for me to get my head out of my ass and onto the bus.
"Sorry," I mumbled to the bus driver as I showed her my bus pass. She just smiled at me.
"That's alright, Dillon. We all get a little spacey now and then," she said as she punched a button. The meter buzzed and then the door closed behind me. Gary was already seated. He smiled at me and patted the set beside him. I sat and made sure the cart was not in any one's way.
The bus jerked forward as we headed to our destination. My eyes went to the kid in front of us. He just sat there staring at me. I gave him a smile and he returned my smile with a toothless one that made me smile even bigger.
I really hated the bus. This time there was a woman seating beside us talking to a box of food. I guess the box talked back because she told it to 'shut up the fuck, bitch'. At the next stop, the toothless kid got off and some guy got on that smelled badly. The driver got up and opens the little trap door on the roof of the bus. She gave me a smile and went back to her seat. When the guy winked at me and blew me a kiss, I just slid closer to Gary and slipped my arm into his to pull him closer to me. I was almost setting on Gary's lap by the time we finally got to the Food Co and it only took a half hour.
"You know it's a ten minute drive by car," I said.
"Yes, but it is safer this way, so hush."
I didn't say any more. I just thought it safer for now as we walked across the parking lot while almost being hit twice by drivers not checking before they backed up.
Once in the store, Gary took the list out of his pocket. He sighed and scratched off something as he gave me a look.
"What?" I asked, innocently.
It only took a half hour to do our weekly shopping. After we paid for it, we headed back out to the bus stop and waited about fifteen minutes for the bus to finally come.
All the buses have a electric ramp; what we call a lift for handicap people. Most drivers will engage the lift so that the elderly people who use the little carts to go shopping, can get on the bus faster.
When the bus door opened, I saw the driver I really disliked. This one was a snotty bastard, but Gary always insisted I be polite. I knew this driver hated using the left, but nevertheless, he sighed and engaged the lift. I let Gary ride it up and I waited for the bus driver to pull the lift back in and I walked up the steps. I showed him my pass and as I started to walk away I heard. "Lazy asses could have lifted it on."
I leaned over so only he could hear me "Lazy Fat Bastard," I whispered to him and went to find my seat. When we got home the driver had no problem lowering the lift for us.
Gary pushed the cart toward the apartment and I followed him, once again watching his ass swish back and forth like a hula-dancer in a grass skirt in his tight fitting jeans.
Once in the apartment, Gary headed for the kitchen. "That one, ten minutes!" he ordered, pointing to a corner in the kitchen.
"Why, for putting Pop Tarts on the list?" I asked as I faced the corner.
"We'll talk about that later. But no, I want you to think of what you did today," Gary said from behind me.
Why did he think I did my best thinking standing in a corner some where in the apartment? Like a child, I stood tall, hands behind me so I would not pick at the paint, feet together, thinking. `What did I do today? Let's see; I woke up, climbed out of bed, went pee, washed my hands, climbed back into bed, had sex with Gary. 'My mind stop on Gary, my Gary. I let out a sigh. Not a stressed out sigh but one that was more or less like a sigh when you are thinking of a good thing.
"You're not thinking," I heard a voice down the hall.
"Yes I am," I told the voice. Well, actually I told it to the wall but the voice heard me.
The kitchen phone beep and I knew he'd picked up the phone in the bedroom. I turn my head a little so I could try to hear who he was calling.
After a few minutes, I heard him talking to someone. "Yes. I would like to complain about a driver. Bus number is ??" He gave the three digit code that all buses have. "Well he had black hair with grey at the side; he was on the heavy side, probably between 35 or 40. No, I not sure of his nationality but he was not white nor was he colored. Well he made a rude comment to my partner and me because he had to use the lift so we could get on the bus with our groceries, Well I don't like using that type of language but he called us lazy asses," Gary was silent for a minute. "Yes, thank you. I hope you do take care of it. We have had problems before with this driver," Gary said. I heard a sigh and the phone beep again so I quickly turned back to the corner.
"Dill, come and set with me," Gary told me as he grabbed my arm and pulled me with him. He sat with an 'humph' in our favorite chair, pulling me down as he sat.
"What were you thinking about?" he asked.
I wiggled around so I was more or less straddling him. He lowered his hand and pulled up the leaver to bring up the foot rest on the Lazyboy. My legs went out straight as I leaned my head on his chest. "You," I told him.
Gary sigh and his hand connected with my butt. The smack stung but did not hurt. "I wanted you to think of what you where going to do before we left for the store," Gary said.
I snuggled closer to him. "You really think I was going to put my tongue on that pole?" I asked.
"Yes, and do you know how many germs are on that pole?" Gary asked as he scolded. "I mean come on; you are a grown man, well almost grown." I looked up at him; to me twenty-two is grown. I started to get up off his lap but he held me tight.
"I've been called out to plenty of homes, parks, and schools where children and teens, boy and girls have stuck their tongues to a frozen pole. Most of them panic and start to pull back but since a tongue is a muscle it just pulls back and bleeds which causes them to panic more." Gary stops and looked at me just as I rolled my eyes. "Am I boring you?" he asked.
"Yes, actually you are," I thought but to my surprise, I said it out loud. The next thing I knew I was on the floor, Gary had pushed the leg rest back in and I just simply slid off his lap and onto the floor.
Gary slide forward a little. "Well, since I am boring you," Gary said as he helped me off the floor and over his lap, "maybe this will not be so boring." With that said, the first swat and hit hard.
"Owww," I yipped.
"Why are you being spank?" Gary asked from above.
That made me think. "For being a smart mouth," I told him.
His hand went into my waistband and pulled my sweats a little tighter his elbow was just behind my head his arm laid strong on my back to hold me down. The swatting started again.
After about ten swats "And?" Gary asked.
"Trying to repeat what I saw on TV," I manage to get out between
swats.
After what seemed a decade, the swats stopped. I could feel Gary's hand gently rubbing my back while I did my best to quit crying.
"Are you going to do it again?" He asked as his fingers gently scratched at my tattoo above my waist band.
"No," I manage to shake my head in the negative.
"Good," he said as he helped me to sit on his lap being careful that my sore ass didn't come into contact with anything.
I felt him relax back; bring his feet up and pull me close to him. He shifted a little so he could remove the blanket that lies on the back of the chair. I heard it flap in the room as he flip it to unfold it then he placed it around me. I just sat there biting on my thumb with my face buried into his neck.
I am not sure how long we sat there, but I was about half a sleep when
Gary patted my hip.
"Up, love," he told me as he pushed the foot rest in.
I stood while Gary grabbed the blanket and tossed it back over the chair after he refolded it. He then walked into the kitchen and I made my way to the bathroom.
"Dillon, come here please."
I made my way around the corner to see him standing with a little brown bottle and a spoon.
"Oh, come on," I told him.
Gary raised his eyebrows as he poured the reddish oil into the spoon. "And what did you call the bus driver?"
I just snarled at him and open my mouth letting him pour that nasty stuff into it. The stuff was just plain nasty. I have no ideal what it was but according to Gary it the same stuff his mom used on him and his siblings to get them to stop cursing. I guess it worked because I've never really heard him swear but then again we have not been together that long.
"Don't swallow yet," he ordered. This time it was my eye brow that raised at him. He just laugh and put the stuff where it belong.
After a minute he let me swallow the liquid. "I'll never get use to that stuff," I told him as I tried to scrap it of my tongue with my teeth,
"Good, because if you did we would have to make it stronger," Gary told me as he gave me a glass of water.
"What I want to know is how you heard. I did not say it that loud," I asked.
"I didn't," Gary said. "I just know my boy."
The next morning Gary headed for work and I stayed home like always. Don't get me wrong, I do work it is just that I do it at home. I've got a little business. I do medical transcribing/ billing from home. I pick up the information from the doctors' offices, type the medical reports and then take the paperwork back and pick up new.
I work when Gary works so we are off together. Once in a while I get a call that they need a report ASAP and I have to go get it, type it out and take it to them. Fortunately, this does not happen often.
Anyway, I was sitting at my desk typing away when I thought I heard a knock on the door. I stopped and listened nothing; so I turn on the recorder again and started typing. This time I heard a banging on the door. Getting up, I opened the door to find one of the neighbor ladies standing with her hands on her belly and jabbering at me like a maniac.
At first, I thought she gone into labor but she pointed to the car port and made the motion for me to follow her. I did and to my surprise, I saw her son of about ten or twelve with his tongue stuck to the pole. He was crying and the other boys around him were laughing at him. I just shook my head. I told his mom to bring me a glass of hot water. She smilingly nodded and waddled off into her apartment. She brought me back a glass of water and I smiled a thank you and poured it over the boy's tongue.
I heard sirens. "Oh, God, don't let it be him," I thought.
Sure enough, Gary came running around the corner, quickly followed by his partner, Troy. Gary came to a stop just as the boy's tongue came free and he gave me a look of relief. He was breathing hard almost like a pant. Troy took the boy to one side
"What, you thought it was me?" I smiled at him “What were YOU thinking?” I told him with a laugh as I headed back into the apartment leaving him and Troy to deal with the boy.
"We need to go shopping. Gary told me as he sat his cup down.
"Ok let this finish first ok" I asked looking back to the TV.
"No, finish when we get back." he said as he paused the DVD. "Get your coat.” I gave a low growl as I got up Gary gave me a smile.
